ABOUT

Individuals with developmental disabilities and their families face a myriad of daily challenges that encompass both physical and emotional hurdles. These challenges can range from navigating complex healthcare systems to coping with societal stigmatization and prejudice. For families, the responsibilities of caregiving often extend far beyond what is typically expected, demanding significant time and emotional resources. Balancing work, caregiving, and advocating for their loved ones can be an ongoing juggling act. Moreover, the uncertainty about the future, particularly in terms of long-term care and financial stability, adds another layer of stress. Despite these formidable challenges, the resilience and unwavering dedication of individuals with developmental disabilities and their families continues to shine, inspiring us all to work towards a more inclusive and supportive society.

The KENNA Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities and their families by improving access to healthcare and community resources, thereby reducing stress, burnout, and enhancing overall well-being.

Kim Randall/The KENNA Foundation Founder

Kim, a mother of three and a retired Army Nurse, is not only a dedicated business owner but also the visionary founder of The KENNA FOUNDATION. In 2004, her family's move to Colorado was driven by the pursuit of better care for her beloved daughter, MaKenna, who faced significant disabilities. After a year of struggling to access essential resources, Kim made it her mission to overhaul the healthcare system for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. In 2008, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Colorado State University-Pueblo. For the past 15 years, Kim has passionately devoted herself to providing accessible and affordable nursing care to vulnerable populations. When she's not working, you can find Kim pushing her limits on the ski slopes, relaxing at the poker table, or cherishing precious moments with her family.
