Mark Lamb: Focus on the Issues That Matter to Arizona Voters

June 07, 20264 min read

I recently joined James T. Harris on KFYI's The Conservative Circus to discuss my campaign for Congress and address the latest round of allegations and accusations being circulated about me and my family.

I addressed those allegations directly during the interview.

These claims and accusations are not new. My family and I have faced variations of these attacks for years. Voters are free to review the facts and draw their own conclusions.

What concerns me most is what gets lost in the process.

While political operatives, activists, and media outlets focus on controversy, Arizona families are focused on issues that affect their lives every day: border security, public safety, inflation, water, energy, government spending, and protecting our constitutional freedoms.

Those are the conversations I believe deserve the most attention, and those are the issues I am running to address.

A Conversation With My Mother

Recently, I was talking with my mother about the latest round of attacks.

I asked her a simple question:

"Did you really think the people who benefit from the status quo were going to stand aside and watch while we challenge it?"

Public service comes with scrutiny. I understood that when I first put my name on the ballot.

What I did not fully appreciate was how willing some people would be to ignore a decade of public service, thousands of interactions with Arizona families, and a proven record of leadership in favor of headlines and accusations.

But that is the reality of politics today.

The closer you get to making a difference, the harder some people will work to stop you.

That does not discourage me. If anything, it strengthens my resolve.

Because this campaign has never been about me.

It is about the future of Arizona and the future of America.

Arizona Voters Deserve a Serious Conversation

The people of Arizona's Fifth Congressional District deserve more than political theater.

They deserve leaders who are willing to discuss the challenges facing our state and our nation.

They deserve to know how candidates will secure the border.

They deserve to know how candidates will address the national debt.

They deserve to know how candidates will protect water resources, strengthen our energy independence, and defend constitutional freedoms.

Those are the issues that matter.

Those are the conversations voters deserve.

The Border Must Be Secured Permanently

As Sheriff of Pinal County, I saw firsthand how failed federal policies affected Arizona communities.

Illegal immigration, cartel activity, human trafficking, fentanyl trafficking, and the strain placed on local law enforcement are not political talking points to me.

They are realities I dealt with throughout my career.

President Trump has taken important action to secure the border, but executive orders can be reversed.

Congress must act to permanently secure our border and ensure future administrations cannot simply undo the progress that has been made.

Arizona deserves long-term solutions, not temporary fixes.

Washington Must Stop Ignoring the Debt

America is approaching $40 trillion in national debt.

That should concern every citizen regardless of political party.

Washington has spent decades spending money it does not have while passing the consequences to future generations.

Fiscal responsibility is not a campaign slogan.

It is an obligation.

We need leaders willing to make difficult decisions and restore accountability to the federal government.

Arizona's Future Depends on Water and Energy

Water and energy are not secondary issues in Arizona.

They are foundational to our future.

Our families, farmers, businesses, and growing communities all depend on responsible policies that protect our resources and strengthen our economy.

Arizona needs representatives who understand these challenges firsthand and are prepared to fight for practical solutions.

God, Family, Freedom, and the Constitution

Throughout my career, I have tried to live by a simple set of principles: God, Family, Freedom, and the Constitution.

Those principles guided me as Sheriff.

They guide me today.

And they will guide me in Congress.

The attacks against me will come and go.

The headlines will change.

The political narratives will shift.

But the challenges facing Arizona families will remain.

That is why I will continue talking about the issues that matter.

I will continue fighting for secure borders, safe communities, fiscal responsibility, energy independence, water security, and constitutional freedom.

Most importantly, I will continue working to earn the trust of the people of Arizona's Fifth Congressional District.

Because this campaign is not about distractions.

It is about the future of our state, our country, and the generations that will follow us.

And that future is worth fighting for.
