Smarter Enforcement. Real Results. America First.
By Mark Lamb, Candidate for Congress
For too long, Washington has confused chaos with compassion and weakness with wisdom. What Americans are seeing now is something very different. It is smart, lawful, professional immigration enforcement that prioritizes public safety and respects the rule of law.
Last week, my friend Tom Homan laid out exactly what this approach looks like during his press conference in Minnesota. What he described is not radical. It is common sense. And it is exactly what Americans have been demanding for years.
Smarter Law Enforcement, Not Less
Tom Homan made it clear that when state and local law enforcement coordinate with ICE in a lawful way, everyone is safer.
By allowing ICE to take custody of criminal illegal aliens directly from county jails, law enforcement avoids dangerous arrests in neighborhoods, reduces the number of officers needed in the field, and prevents known public safety threats from being released back into the community.
As Homan explained, this approach often requires one or two officers at a jail instead of eight or ten officers conducting arrests in public spaces. That means fewer confrontations, fewer risks, and more officers available to focus on serious crime.
This is smarter law enforcement. Not less law enforcement.
Real Cooperation Is Producing Real Results
Under President Trump’s direction, Minnesota has seen unprecedented cooperation between ICE and local law enforcement agencies. That cooperation is already producing measurable results.
Because of this coordination, ICE announced a drawdown of 700 federal personnel from Minnesota. Not because enforcement is stopping, but because it is working more efficiently and safely.
Criminal aliens are being taken into custody before they hit the streets. Recidivism is reduced. Officers are safer. Communities are safer.
That is what effective governance looks like.
Law Enforcement Focused on Public Safety
Tom Homan was clear that ICE is conducting targeted enforcement operations based on reasonable suspicion, with a focus on national security threats and violent criminals. This includes individuals with homicide convictions, sex offenses, gang affiliations, and assault records.
At the same time, Homan emphasized that prioritizing criminals does not mean immigration laws are ignored for anyone else. If you are in this country illegally, you are not exempt from enforcement. The law applies equally.
That is how the system is supposed to work.
Transparency and Accountability Matter
One of the most important steps announced was the deployment of body worn cameras for ICE officers. This move strengthens transparency, accountability, and public trust.
As a retired sheriff, I know firsthand that professional law enforcement has nothing to hide. Body cameras protect officers, protect the public, and reinforce confidence in lawful enforcement actions.
President Trump’s support for this effort reflects a clear expectation. Law enforcement must be firm, fair, and accountable. Misconduct is not tolerated. Professionalism is required.
Enforcing the Law Congress Passed
Tom Homan made something else very clear. President Trump’s mission has not changed and will not change.
The immigration laws passed by Congress will be enforced. Period.
There is no retreat from mass deportations of those who are in this country illegally. There is no surrender to mob pressure, intimidation, or unlawful interference with federal officers.
Peaceful protest is a constitutional right. Assaulting, impeding, or threatening law enforcement is a crime. And it will be prosecuted.
Standing With Law Enforcement and American Families
As someone who wore the badge and served on the front lines, I stand firmly with the men and women of ICE, Border Patrol, and local law enforcement who are doing the hard work to protect American families.
They do not leave their humanity at the door when they go to work. They serve with professionalism, compassion, and courage under extraordinary pressure.
I also want to thank President Donald Trump for decisive leadership. Because of that leadership, our southern border is the most secure it has been in modern history. Fewer children are dying on the journey north. Fewer women are being trafficked. Fewer dangerous individuals are entering our country.
You cannot have strong national security without strong border security.
The Path Forward
What we are seeing now proves an important point.
When leaders choose cooperation over chaos and law over politics, the system works.
Smarter enforcement produces real results.
Public safety improves.
Law enforcement is protected.
Communities are safer.
That is the America First approach. And it is the kind of leadership I will continue to fight for in Congress.
Smarter enforcement.
Real results.
America First.

Will You Stand With Me? I Need Your Help
f you love this country and still believe in God, Family, Freedom, and the Constitution, I need your help. I am running for Congress to stand with President Trump and codify into law the policies that are proven to work and good for America, so they cannot be undone by bureaucrats or political activists. This is about securing our border, backing law enforcement, restoring the rule of law, and protecting the future for our children and grandchildren. I cannot do this alone. Patriots win when we stand together, take action, and refuse to stay silent.
