DEMOCRATS NATIONWIDE ARE CROSSING A DANGEROUS LINE

AGAINST FEDERAL AUTHORITY”

ARIZONA — Mark Lamb, Republican candidate for U.S. Congress in Arizona’s 5th Congressional District, is calling on Arizona’s Attorney General to issue a public retraction — at a minimum a clarification supporting law enforcement — following statements by her that risk legitimizing hostility toward federal agents.

“Arizona’s Attorney General should issue a public retraction — at a minimum a clarification. Nobody is a stronger supporter of Arizona’s Stand Your Ground laws, the 2nd Amendment and our God-given Constitutional rights than me. However, in today’s heated political environment — when federal law enforcement officers are being attacked by paid violent activists — her statements run the risk of being used as permission for the use of violence against federal agents. It doesn’t matter what she meant to say — it’s the message some will hear. Elected officials have an obligation to support the rule of law, and equally as important, to support the men and women of law enforcement as they do their jobs.”

Lamb warned that years of Democrat rhetoric attacking Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), undermining constitutional authority, and portraying federal officers as enemies has created a dangerous climate.

“This is what happens when Democrats spend years attacking ICE, undermining the Constitution, and portraying federal officers as enemies,” Lamb said. “Democrats are crossing a dangerous line against federal authority — and it is unacceptable.”

“Democrat rhetoric is increasingly dangerous. It is reckless. And it is pushing the country toward violence,” he added.

Lamb emphasized that disagreement with immigration policy does not justify encouraging threats against federal agents or undermining law enforcement.

“You don’t have to like immigration enforcement,” Lamb said. “Rhetoric that in any way that could be deemed as justifying violence against federal agents is unacceptable.”

“I stand with ICE, and I will always a stand with law enforcement and the rule of law.”
